The reason I'm running things back through the X32 and not mixing in Reaper is to get more familiar with the X32 and to get a good baseline setting for gigs. I then render each region from Reaper to an mp3 per song I then transfer the stereo mixdown from USB to my hard drive, open in Reaper, and set a region for each song to work on a good overall mix (I'm trying to mix the band overall across all songs and not an individual mix per song)įor "mastering" down to stereo, I plug a USB stick into the X32, press "record", and play back from Reaper through the X32 in real time (this takes two hours per go) I then geek out by playing back from Reaper to X32, adjust levels, compression, etc. Here's what I do:ĭuring rehearsal, the X32 records to Reaper using the X32s USB interface (16 channel mode)Īfter rehearsal, I organize raw tracks in Reaper by setting regions and removing dead air It works fine, but I'm wondering if it's the most efficient way. I've set up a workflow for recording my band's rehearsals and "mastering" to 2 tracks after the fact.
